Summer time

Oh how I love summer time!  I am so blessed that I get to spend the summer home with Ella and Max.  I wish I was lucky enough to be home every day but this is still pretty awesome.  Ella and Max have grown up so much for last year.  As I think back to last summer....Max was only a few months old and Ella was about 18 months.  I had to keep Max out of the sun so we were limited in what we did.  He was such a good baby.  He went with the flow and napped as Ella enjoyed story time, summer concerts and the zoo.  A year later, Max is now enjoying all of those fun places with us.  He is walking and running around everywhere.  His knew favorite word is "down" because he never wants to be held.  He loves to explore.  I thought last summer was hard with having a newborn and not sleeping allot during the night.  However, Max is very energetic and I always have to keep an eye on him.  Ella has also grown up so much too.  She is such a little girl.  Using whole sentences- is just amazing.  Ella's speech is what has really blossomed.  She is also so polite!  Always using please and thank you mommy.  Telling me she loves me...just melts my heart every time!

Summer has been great!  We have been to the pool, the zoo, Graters for a play date, playground with some of my students, visit to the museum, story times at the library and have also made a trip to Indianapolis to visit Auntie Amy and Uncle John.  I am also taking advantage of this time to try to teach Ella and Max so many things and give them so many new experiences.  During the school year, I don't have the time I would like to teach Ella and Max different concepts, but I am making up for it now.  Ella is really catching on...she knows all of her basic colors, shapes, address and whole name.  (Ella Elizabeth Roberts- "Ella a little bit Roberts") We now are working on identifying letters.  Ella can identify the letter E, A and M.  Max is working on identifying his body parts and learning his animals.  He loves his head and nose!!  He also just learned how to jump with two feet.
